Random jukebox – Gloworm

Recently revived by Chicane for his new album, here’s an otherwise forgotten piece of electronic pop from the early 1990s, the exceptional voice of Gloworm, with the stirring Carry Me Home. There never was an album, and that’s a bit of a shame, as they were rather good.

Preview – Chicane

Chicane‘s recent habit has been to reinvent dance classics, either his own or other people’s, and for his latest single he draws on the brilliant Gloworm hit Carry Me Home, with new extra-waily vocals from Steve Edwards. This is taken from the new album Twenty, out this week.

Music for the Masses 23 – 24 October 2004

Three weeks in, and the newly reborn Music for the Masses radio show was finally starting to find a rhythm, even if it was just a week away from its end. Freed from the shackles of the playlists which dogged the show’s previous incarnation, there were now slots for forthcoming new releases, music news, and the new Artist of the Week slot. The laid back, late night nature of the music won the show a lot of praise – the fast talking of the presenter less so…
