Three years of stowaways – the best of 2013

2013 was the first complete year this blog saw, and saw the first of our traditional annual ridiculous levels of excitement as we built up to the BRIT Awards. I put a lot of work into researching the old awards and nominations, and it’s been gratifying to see the surge in visitor numbers in the last couple of years as each ceremony nears and people other than me actually start to get excited about it.

It also saw the launch of the Playlist for stowaways, a feature which has unintentionally gone rather quiet in recent years, but which I should really revive, as I really enjoyed putting them together.

Pet Shop Boys are probably my favourite artist of all time (you can be the judge of that though) and 2013 saw them release their best work in a couple of decades, the sublime Electric, while Depeche Mode came back with the less convincing Delta Machine. Röyksopp, meanwhile, unveiled their fantastic single Running to the Sea outside of Scandinavia, and made everyone very happy in the process.
